about Elisa

Elisa Ritsing (artist, dancer and choreographer) is mainly a self tough artist starting painting in year 2019. Creating a dance performance at that moment, she became part of a vision that could not be put into dance language. On this occasion, this vision was brought into life instead on canvas and by acrylic paints. However, the superior feeling created by an idea, a blank canvas and colors, was so powerful that from there many new thoughts and visions were born with the help of brushes and paints.

In her works, Elisa mainly focuses on two topics: a woman's sexuality and the subconscious, and the resulting unconscious patterns of thought and behavior. As a painting language, she uses naive/surrealist forms and symbols, which are often presented through strong and contrasting colors. As tools, she uses oil and acrylic paints, canvas, wood, fabric, plants.

Last year, Elisa completed the painting course at Estonian Academy of Arts (Open Academy). Her paintings have been exhibited in different places in Estonia: MA EI SAA ARU Art festival, Estonian Traditional Music Center in Viljandi, ArtDepoo art gallery in Tallinn and elsewhere.
